10 THINGS TO REMEMBER BEFORE YOU ATTEND A PLACEMENT DRIVE

1) PREPARE A RESUME.  Resume represents you. The panel observes it and sketches your character in his/her mind. Not only the contents but the way you present the contents is also noticed. Keep it very simple! Ok I repeat it again, keep it very simple! I used the font TIMES NEW ROMAN and font size was 12. No need to show creativity, ok I repeat this also, don’t show any creativity in resume. It is not your MS-WORD skill test. Keep it look professional. I avoided mentioning my strengths, weakness, height, weight, sex, creed, color, etc. In short I kept it look like a resume instead of a BIO DATA. Hobbies that you mention in your resume must be the ones about over which you have strong grip. For example if you mention your hobby as cooking then you must know about the recipes and way of cooking. (In short- don’t write the fake things.) There is no need of adding unnecessary things in your achievements portion. After you are done with the resume, show it to several people and ask them t

20 SUGGESTIONS REGARDING THE PLACEMENTS.

“SOME SUGGESTIONS REGARDING THE PLACEMENTS ” 1) Attend the Pre Placement Talk session with attention. It may bore you but it’s very helpful for understanding what this recruitment needs in the candidates. 2) Don’t be a dumb batch! Respond to HR in the Pre Placement Session! 3) Don’t ask unnecessary questions (for example - How the payment shall be provided? Check or cash) to the HR. Don’t put him in the perception that he is dealing with a stupid crowd. 4) Grammar test needs to your actual knowledge of English. The questions in the test are SIMPLE not EASY. 5) One day preparation for grammar test won’t work. 6) Mark the answer (in your answer sheet) when you make your final decision, no need to perform overwriting else this may disqualify your answer. 6) While giving your introduction in the JAM or GD round, don’t speak like a programmed machine. DON’T LEARN YOUR INTRODUCTION BY HEART. Speak as if you are a human and your listener too is a human. Panels want to listen and unde

EXPERIENCE OF THE ROUNDS COMMENCED IN HCL DRIVE.

PRE PLACEMENT TALK . About 11’ o clock HR of HCL (Mr. MAYANK) entered the seminar hall. He is a young guy, was wearing black shirt and formal pants. He carried his laptop along with him over his right shoulder and walked to the stage. Well his laptop didn’t get connected to the projector, maybe some technical issue. So he started without showing any presentations. He didn’t use the mic even. Pre placement talk is a session in which concerned representative of the company (Here the HR) talks to the students/candidates about the companies objectives and achievements. So, Mayank sir started, “ Tell me something about my organization! ” He started with the companies profile and then one by one, gradually he talked about the key responsibilities for a graduate engineer trainee. He explained each and every round and told us- speak clearly, speak relevant in technical round . He also explained the probation period, its meaning and conditions. It went a long session, yet the interest was

PREPARATION FOR HCL DRIVE.

PREPARATION FOR HCL DRIVE STARTED :- We had one week (hardly) to prepare for this drive. The best part of this drive, for me, was that the recruitment had no aptitude test, as at that point of time I had not completed the Quantitative aptitude by R.S. Aggarwal. (I haven’t completed it yet! LOL!) I was good (just more than average) in grammar so that round didn’t bother me much. Group discussion was in the motto- “JO HOGA DEKHA JAEGA!”(Let’s see what happens). The thing which worried me was the Technical interview as I am from electrical branch and HCL was not going to ask me about any of the EEE subjects. So I talked to some teachers and seniors who told me to prepare for NETWORKING. Having no other leads and clues I headed with the networking for which I issued Forouzan, 2nd edition from library. I googled: Things a network engineer must know. Then I Searched/read each and every experience on Indiabix. I downloaded three pdfs, each having 100+ questions/answers. All these consu

THE WAIT.

I used to visit the garden of our colony whenever I got bored or exhausted from my daily life routine. This place always grants me such a peace. Seeing the small children playing, old people walking around the periphery of garden, couples sitting and chatting together always pleasured me and always fresh up my mind. One evening, sitting on the fancy iron bench I noticed a girl, entering the garden. She was in a college uniform, carrying a bag maybe she directly headed to this garden from her college. She was five feet and four inches tall, smart, slim and of fair complexion. She came and sat on the bench next to mine. Watching her in that uniform reminded me of my college days and I kept staring her. She was waiting for someone, as she constantly looked at the gate of the garden. She seemed sad. Her red eyes conveyed that she must have cried a lot. Watching her gloomy face I went into my own thoughts guessing that what would have happened with her, why is she sitting here, why she’s c

Just five minutes

“Come back. Please. Somehow,” he muttered. Maybe he forgot that memories never reply. Memories just remind us what once we had. Memories, for us, are the assets but for him, were the heaviest liability. Picture of his beloved vanished as he opened his eyes and watched the reality which his heart always denied but, as usual, mind won the war and made him to believe; she is no more. Several years ago she left him without a prior notice; maybe death was in haste. That day he locked himself in his room, cried, wept, yelled, and broke the vase and after some hours he wiped his face with his injured palm and unlocked the door. His elder sister exhaled a sigh of relief that he unlocked the door. Little did she know that something has been locked inside forever! His mother, seeing his wounded palm, ran towards him and pressed a cloth over the cut. Little did she know that something inside is bleeding and shall bleed forever. “Is that paining?” mother asked. “No, it’s alright,” he lied
